African Fish Eagle by its nest in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Its main diet obviously consists of fish whom the eagle tries to snatch from the water with its large clawed talons. Should the fish be too heavy to allow to get lift, it will instead drag the fish across the surface of the water until it reaches the shore. But if it is really lucky and catches a fish that is too heavy to even allow the eagle to sustain flight, it will drop into the water and paddle to the nearest shore with its wings. If the fishing luck is not good then this fish eagle will feed on ducks, small turtles, baby crocodiles, flamingos, lizards frogs and even monkeys.
