Eestis elutseb kokku 8 tihaseliiki ning musttihane on nendest minu jaoks kõige haruldasem (puhtalt seetõttu, et polnud teda juba üle 6 aasta kohanud), kuigi tegelikult on tegu üsna levinud linnuga.

There are 8 species of tits (yes, I know it sounds funny) living in Estonia and for me the coal tit is the rarest (just because I have not seen it for over 6 years), although it is a common species here.
Teistest tihastest eristab teda üsna selgelt seesama valge triip kuklaosas. Tegemist on ka väga vilka ja osava akrobaadiga, mistõttu tema pildile saamine polegi nii kerge ülesanne. Mõned võtted siiski üleeile Harjumaal õnnestusid.
You can distinguish it from other tits (still funny...) by the white streak in the back of its head. Coal tit is a very lively bird and a skillful acrobat, therefore getting a sharp image can be quite a task. Some shots, however, succeeded a day before yesterday in Harjumaa, Estonia.
