Tutt-tiir, Thalasseus sandvicensis

Tutt-tiir on lind, keda võib kohata Euroopa, Aafrika ja Ameerika rannikualadel. Tema ingliskeelne nimi on sandwich tern, aga see ei ole seotud üldse võileibadega, vaid pärineb Inglismaal Kenti krahvkonnas asuva Sandwichi linna nimest, kus liiki esmakordselt kirjeldati. The Sandwich Tern is a coastal seabird found along the shores of Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Its name comes not from food, but from the town of Sandwich in Kent, England, where the species was first described. The photo was taken at Khor Ad Dahariz Nature Reserve, Oman.
