Tutt-tiir on lind, keda võib kohata Euroopa, Aafrika ja Ameerika rannikualadel. Tema ingliskeelne nimi on sandwich tern, aga see ei ole seotud üldse võileibadega, vaid pärineb Inglismaal Kenti krahvkonnas asuva Sandwichi linna nimest, kus liiki esmakordselt kirjeldati. Head uut aastat!

Kui eelmise aasta lõpetasin Ecuadori rariteediga, siis uut aastat alustan kodumaise haruldusega (vähemalt minu jaoks). Hallpea-rähn sai üles pildistatud 2025. aasta viimasel päeval Harjumaal.

Ning loomulikult traditsiooniliselt uue aasta algusesse taaskord: Elagu Ukraina! Loodetavasti toob see aasta õiglase rahu Ukrainale ja venemaa väed pekstakse puruks.

I ended last year with a rarity from Ecuador and begin this year with a local one (at least for me) - a grey-faced woodpecker. The photo was taken in Harjumaa, Estonia on the last day of 2025.

And of course, as is tradition at the beginning of the new year: Glory to Ukraine! May this year bring a just peace to Ukraine, and may russian forces be destroyed.
