Hall-leevike, Pyrrhula nipalensis uchidai

Hall-leevike, Pyrrhula nipalensis uchidai, Brown Bullfinch
Hall-leevikest leidub Himaalaja ja Kagu-Aasia metsades. Tal on valdavalt pruunikas sulestik, millele lisanduvad aktsendina hallikad ja roostepruunid toonid. See leevike eelistab tihedaid mägimetsasid, kus toitub seemnetest, marjadest ja pungadest. Erinevalt erksavärvilisest meil kohatavast leevikesest, on hall-leevike tagasihoidlikuma välimusega seetõttu, et see aitab tal metsases elupaigas paremini varjuda. Foto on tehtud Alishani rahvuspargis, Taiwanis.
The brown bullfinch is a small passerine bird found in the forests of the Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It has a predominantly brownish plumage with subtle hints of gray and rufous tones. This species prefers dense, montane woodlands, where it feeds on seeds, berries, and buds. Unlike the more colorful Eurasian bullfinch, the brown bullfinch has a muted appearance that helps it blend into its forested habitat. The photo was taken in Alishan National Park, Taiwan.
