Eastern Blue Rock-thrush is the subspecies of blue rock-thrush and it can be found in South-East Asia, in the triangle between Mongolia, Sakhalin island and the Philippines. Its most distinctive feature is the chestnut-rufous belly as the nominate species is completely blue. Eastern Blue Rock-thrush prefers grasslands and rocky coastlines as habitat and this photo was taken on the seashore that has very peculiar rock formations - in a spectacular Yehliu geopark on the northern coast of Taiwan.
