Lokutkiivitaja, Vanellus miles novaehollandiae

Lokutkiivitaja jõudis Uus-Meremaale vähem kui 100 aastat tagasi täiesti omal käel ning tänaseks on end nii hästi sisse seadnud, et teda võib kohata praktiliselt igal pool. Edu põhjuseks on põllumajandus ja linnade areng, mis on loonud linnule sobilikke elupaiku. Foto sai tehtud Otago poolsaare rannaniidul, Uus-Meremaa Lõunasaarel.

Black-shouldered Lapwing arrived to New Zealand less than 100 years ago on its own and has now settled in very well. It can be found across the country and the reason behind the success is agricultural and urban development that have created suitable habitats for the bird.
