Pikakoivaline kaelus-karkjalg (Poaka maaori k.) on Uus-Meremaa
rannikuvetes väga levinud lind. Kahlates madalas vees (milleks on pikad
Long-legged pied stilt (or poaka in maori) is quite common in coastal
waters of New Zealand. Wading in shallow water (where long legs come in
handy), stilt searches for aquatic insects and small molluscs. This
stilt subspecies is found from Malaysia and Japan to New Zealand. The
photo is taken in Waikanae Estuary, on the North Island of New
Zealand.
