Baananiturpial on Kesk-Ameerika endeemne liik, keda võib kohata Mehhiko lõunaosast Panama põhjaservani (peamiselt Kariibi mere poolses ääres). Linnu laul on üsna meloodiline ning varieeruv ja seetõttu kannab ta inglise keeles nime peoleo. Eluks sobilikud tingimused on niisked ja veekogude äärsed metsad, vanad sekundaarsed metsad ning ka banaaniistandused. Fotod tehtud Sarapiqui orus, Costa Ricas.
Black-cowled Oriole is endemic to Central America and is found from the southern Mexico to the most northern parts of Panama (mainly on the Caribbean side). The song of the bird is quite melodic, hence the name oriole. Its preferred habitats are humid forest edges, riparian forests, old second-growth forests and banana plantations. The photos are taken in Sarapiqui valley, Costa Rica.
