Suur-händturpial, Quiscalus mexicanus

Suur-händturpial on valjuhäälne, varesesuurune lind, kes on Põhja-Ameerika keskosast kuni Lõuna-Ameerika keskosani üsna levinud. Antud asukohas võib teda väga lihtsalt segamini ajada Nikaraagua händturpialiga, kes elutseb ainult Nikaraaguas ja Costa Rica kõige põhjapoolsemates piirkondades, kuid nende eristamine on keeruline. Väidetakse, et Nikaraagua liigil on nokk väiksem ja saba lühem, kuid kuna šablooni kõrval polnud, siis ei oska arvata, et kas oli suurem või väiksem, pikem või lühem. Great-tailed Grackle is a loud and vocal bird that you can find from the central parts of North America to the northern parts of South America. In this location it is easy to confuse it with Nicaraguan Grackle that is endemic to Nicaragua and the extreme north of Costa Rica. These birds are really difficult to distinguish. They say that Nicaraguan grackle has a smaller bill and a shorter tail but I really did not have a template next to the bird so I cannot say if something was longer or bigger. Therefore the bird is identified as a more common species but if somebody wants to challenge that, argumented suggestion is very welcome.
