Kaksvarvaslaisik, Choloepus didactylus

See kaksvarvaslaisiku alamliik elutseb Lõuna-Ameerika põhjaosas, Venetsueelast kuni Amazonase jõeni Brasiilias. Tegemist on öise eluviisiga loomaga, mis on ka üks erisus võrreldes kolmvarvaslaisikuga (lisaks välimusele, varvaste arvule ja paljule muule). Foto sai tehtud Ecuadori Amazonias, Cuyabeno loodukaitsealal.

This subspecies of the two-toed sloth inhabits the northern part of South America, from Venezuela to the Amazon River in Brazil. It is a nocturnal animal, which is one of the differences compared to the three-toed sloth (in addition to appearance, number of toes, and many other factors). The photo was taken in the Ecuadorian Amazon, in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.
