Räusktiir on väga veidra levialaga ning nad kõik on üks liik, ilma
alamliikideta. Näiteks asuvad pesitsusalad nii Põhja-Ameerikas, Läänemere
ääres (sh Eestis), kuid ka Aasias, Aafrikas, Austraalias ja Uus-Meremaal.
Ainult Lõuna-Ameerikas ja Antarktikas ei ole neid võimalik vabas looduses
kohata. Veidraks teeb selle leviala just see, et neid leidub vaid üsna
kitsaste siiludena ookeanide, merede ja jõgede läheduses ning Euroopas on Läänemere
ümbrus ja Musta mere põhjaosa ainukeseks kandiks, mida nad koduks peavad.

regioonis, Omaanis.
Caspian Tern is a bird with a strange breeding area and they are all one species, without subspecies. For example the breeding grounds are located in North America, by the Baltic Sea (incl. Estonia) but also in Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Only South America and Antarctica are the places where this tern is not present. And what is strange about the breeding grounds is that all of these are narrow slices by the ocean, sea or around the rivers. For example in Europe the Baltic Sea and the northern part of the Black Sea are the only places Caspian tern can call home. But the photo was actually taken in Khor Ad Dahariz Reserve, Dhofar region, Oman.
