India tiigihaigur, Ardeola grayii

Indian Pond Heron is a species of India and South-East Asia but a small population is found also in the Arabian peninsula. It is quite a smart bird - they have been noted to pick up crumbs of bread and drop them on the water surface to bait fishes. This photo was taken near the Ain Razat spring is southern Oman.
