seemnetest tulenev rasv on küll energiarikkam, kuid vajab seedimiseks
rohkem aega. Putukad on proteiinibatooni asemel.
Peruu aladel. Antud isend jäi fotole Ecuadori Amazonias, Cuyabeno
loodukaitsealal.
Miller's monk saki is almost totally arboreal - it uses the high,
dense forest canopy for travelling and the lower levels for searching or
foraging for food. Monk sakis eat mostly fruits and seeds,
sometimes also insects or arthropods, like army ants and
spiders. Fruits are high in sugars and offer quick-releasing energy
that is great for bursts of activity, like leaping through the canopy.
Seeds, on the other hand, are good sources of fat that release higher
amounts of energy but require more digestion time. Insects are like
protein bars. Miller's saki range includes parts of southwestern
Colombia, northeastern Ecuador, and perhaps adjacent areas in
Peru. The photo was taken in Ecuadorian Amazon, in Cuyabeno
Wildlife Reserve.
