Mainakuldnokk, Acridotheres tristis

Mainakuldnokka peetakse üheks maailma invasiivsemaks linnuliigiks ning Austraalias on lind kuulutatud lausa kõige suuremaks looduslikuks ohuks. Naabermaal Uus-Meremaal, kuhu see kuldnokk asustati ligikaudu 150 aastat tagasi, on läinud paremini, sest Lõunasaare jahe kliima talle väga ei sobi ning ka Põhjasaarel hoiab ta pigem soojemasse põhjaossa. Common myna is considered one of the most invasive bird species in the world and in Australia it was named as the most important natural pest. In the neighboring New Zealand, where the species was introduced some 150 years ago, the things are much better as the cooler temperatures of South Island do not suit myna very well and in the North Island it also prefers the northern, warmer regions.
