Miskit hulbib vees...
There's something in the water...
Mitte miski, vaid keski! Erakpingviin (maoori keeles Hoiho) on lõpuks
otsustanud kaldale tulla.
Not something but someone! Yellow-eyed Penguin (Hoiho in maori) has
finally decided to come ashore.
Rohkem kui 3-tunnine ootamine varjes tasus end siiski ära. Need
pingviinid on loomu poolest hästi arad - kui nad kaldal kedagi märkavad,
siis nad rannale ei tule. Nii oligi varje paarisaja meetri kaugusel
nende pesitsuskohast. Ning kaldale tulevad nad alati päikeseloojangu
eel, pärast pikka päeva merel. Catlinsi rannik, Uus-Meremaa
lõunasaarel.
More than 3 hours of waiting in the hide finally paid off. These
penguins are very shy by nature so if they see some movement on the
beach they remain in the water. Therefore the hide was about 200
meters from their nesting site. And they only come ashore once a
day - when the sun starts setting, after a long day at sea. The
Catlins Coast, New Zealand South Island.
