Tutkas on Eestis I kategooria kaitsealune liik, kelle arvukus on üsna kiirelt vähenenud. Põhjuseks on rannaheinamaade ja -niitude vähenemine. Kuna viimastel aastatel on rannaäärsete alade kasutuselevõtt hoogustunud, siis ehk mõjub see ühel hetkel positiivselt ka tutkaste populatsioonile. Fotod tehtud Pärnumaal.
Reeve is a category I protected species in Estonia and their numbers have declined quite rapidly. This is due to the diminishing of the coastal meadows and pastures. As in the recent years many efforts have been made to reintroduce these fertile areas then hopefully this gives also a positive boost for the reeve (ruff) population. The photos are taken in Pärnumaa, Estonia.
