Lodinokk-haigur on öise eluviisiga lind, kes elutseb mangroovimetsades, soodes ja muudes niisketes piirkondades Kesk-Ameerikas ja Lõuna-Ameerika põhjaosas. Oma suure nokaga püüab ta veest liikumatuid kalu, vähilisi ja muid vee-elukaid, kuid vajadusel on ta suuteline ka saagile järele jooksma. Päevasel ajal istub lind reeglina kusagil mangroovivõsas nagu ka antud piltidelt näha.
Boat-billed Heron or just Boatbill is a nocturnal bird that lives in mangroves, freshwater marshes, wooded swamps and other wet places in Central America and northern South America. Large broad bill is used as a spoon, to catch motionless preys (fish, shrimps and also other amphibians) but it may even run to catch a prey. During the day, the bird is perched in trees, among dense foliage in the mangrove as you can see from the photos.
