Haraknääri võib kohata Vaikse ookeani rannikumetsades, Mehhiko keskosast Costa Rica keskosani. Nagu pildilt näha, on üheks nende lemmiktoiduks marjad (ja ka muud puuviljad), kuid taimetoitlust harrastatakse ainult kuival perioodil. Niipea kui saabub märg hooaeg (ja koos sellega ka putukad), muutub toidusedel kardinaalselt. Eriliseks lemmikuks on siis liblikad. You can find White-throated Magpie-jay in the coastal forests by the Pacific Ocean, from central Mexico to central Costa Rica. As you can see from the photo, their favorite foods are berries (and other fruits) although the birds are vegetarians only in dry season. When the rains come (and insects with it), the diet changes radically. Particular favorites are then lepidopterans. The photo is taken in Nicoya peninsula, Costa Rica, at the southern edge of their range.
