Peoleo, Oriolus oriolus

Peoleo ei ole haruldane lind, liigil läheb tegelikult maailmas päris hästi. Sellest hoolimata on teda pildistada paganama keeruline, sest lind hoiab targu tihnikutesse ja puude latvadesse, mistõttu heal juhul jääb ta sulle silma ainult ülelennul. Minu esimestel piltidel peoleost kujutasid lindu loetud kollased pikslid keset fotot, nüüd olen jõudnud sinnani, kus liik on juba selgelt äratuntav. Heast pildist on veel asi kaugel, kuid nende kahe fotoga (tehtud Tartumaal) on märk maas ning loodetavasti panen kunagi siia blogisse üles ka täiskaaderpildid sellest kollasest Eestimaa papagoist. Piltide juurde kuulake aga üsna ilmseksimatult äratuntavat laulu, mida praegusel ajal võib metsaservades üsna tihti kuulda.
Eurasian Golden Oriole is not a rare bird, the species is actually doing quite well in the world. Despite that it is a very hard subject to photograph as the bird keeps itself in a thicket or a treetop so you usually see it (if you are lucky) only flying by. On my first photos of this species, oriole was only couple of yellow pixels in the centre of the picture. Now I have some shots (taken in Tartumaa, Estonia) where the bird is clearly identifiable. These are not yet great photos but hopefully someday I will upload on this blog some full frame shots of this Estonian golden parrot. Accompanying the photographs is an unmistakable song of the Golden Oriole that you can hear quite often  at the moment if you happen to wander around our countryside.
