Seppkiivitaja kuumal kevadpäeval end jahutamas. Linnu nimi tuleneb muide sellest, et häda korral teeb ta väidetavalt häälitsusi, mis sarnanevad sellele, kui sepp haamriga alasile lööb. Olles häält ise reaalajas kuulnud, siis päris sellist muljet ei tekkinud. Kui just haamriks ei ole laste mänguhaamer, millel piuksud otsas, sest häälitsus kõlab ikka rohkem piuksumisena. Blacksmith lapwing cooling itself on a hot spring day. The name of the bird comes from the fact that the alarm call is supposedly similar to the sound that a blacksmith makes when hitting the anvil with a hammer. Having heard the call in real life I would not completely agree. Unless the hammer is a child's squeaky hammer as the sound is better described as squeaking sound (at least in my opinion).
