Ilmselt kõige igavama välimusega lind Costa Ricas - ühtlaselt pruun
aedrästas. Ometigi on tegemist riigi rahvuslinnuga, keda seal maal
kutsutakse yigüirroks. Rahvuslinnuks sai ta peamiselt seetõttu, et
aedrästa tugev ja meloodiline laul tähistab alati vihmaperioodi algust,
mis on igal aastal ka inimestele oluline tähis. Teine põhjus on
arvatavasti ka selles, et aedrästas on alati olnud ka nähtaval - neile

Probably the dullest looking bird in Costa Rica - completely
brown Clay-coloured Thrush. Despite that it's the national bird
of the country, locally known as yigüirro. This bird was chosen due to
its strong and melodious song that always comes during the start of
the rainy season. In addition this thrush has been familiar to the
general population since the country's early history, thanks to the
species' tendency to live near houses and gardens.
