Mustkäpp-ämmalahv on Ameerika üks suuremaid ahvilisi ning elutseb ta
Kesk-Ameerikas ja Kolumbia põhjaosas. Tegemist ei ole üksildase
eluviisiga loomaga, vastupidi - moodustatakse 20-40 liikmest koosnevaid
perekondi (liikmete arv on ajas varieeruv - osad lahkuvad, uued
liituvad). See ämmalahv vajab elukeskkonnaks väga suuri metsaalasid, aga
kuna neid jääb aina vähemaks, siis on ta lisatud tänaseks ohustatud
liikide nimekirja. Lisaks mainitule teevad kurja veel ka küttimine ja

Geoffroy's spider monkey (and this subspecies - Nicaraguan spider
monkey) is one of the largest monkeys in America and it is found in
Central America and Northern Colombia. It is not a solitary animal
but gathers into societies that contain between 20 and 40 members
(the size and composition of the social group changes
constantly). Spider monkeys require large tracts of forest to survive
but as there are less and less suitable habitats, the species is today
considered already to be endangered. Besides that, hunting and capture
for the pet trade, are serious problems. The photo is taken
