Ronkkondor on raisakotka kommetega röövlind, keda võib kohata Põhja-Ameerika keskosast kuni Lõuna-Ameerika keskosani. Tema üheks iseärasuseks on voltis nahaga pea ja kael ning ka asjaolu, et ta ei suuda häält teha (pole lihtsalt vastavat organit). Aga kui midagi on puudu, siis tavaliselt on mõni teine asi jällegi rohkem arenenud - ronkkondoril on selleks väga hea nägemine. Southern American black vulture is a scavenger whose range extends from the central parts of North America to the central parts of South America. One of its features is the featherless head and neck with wrinkled skin but also the fact that the bird is a mute (as it lacks a vocal organ). But when something is missing, then usually something else is well developed - black vulture has a very keen eyesight. The photo is taken on a burning hot day by the Pacific ocean in Nicoya peninsula, Costa Rica.
