Vihitaja ehk jõgitilder on kõva rändaja - lind pesitseb Euroopa ja Aasia parasvöötmes, kuid talvitumas käib nii Aafrikas kui Austraalias. Võib-olla ka see pildil olev isend, kes jäi kaamera ette Lõuna-Aafrika Vabariigis, Krugeri rahvuspargis, Krokodillijõe ääres, jõudis hiljem mõne meie maa veekogu kallastele? Igatahes varsti on kevad sealmaal, et kahlajaid on lõunamaadelt tagasi oodata.
Common Sandpiper is a full migrant - it breeds across most of temperate and subtropical Europe and Asia, and migrates to Africa and Australia in winter. Maybe even this bird, that was in front of my camera by the Crocodile river in Kruger National Park, South Africa, found later its way to our shores in Estonia? Anyway - soon the spring reaches to the point when the waders start returning from the south.
