Toonehani ei ole saanud oma nime selle järgi, et tal on must sulestik (ma eeldan). Tegemist on tõeliselt ohtliku linnuga. Esiteks on tal tiiva küljes väikesed, kuid üliteravad, kannused, millega ta ründab oma liigikaaslasi ja ka teisi linde (kuna toonehani on äärmiselt territoriaalne). Need võitlused võivad lõppeda vastastele surmavalt ning ilmselt suudaks lind haiget teha ka inimesele. Aga see pole veel kõik - lisaks sellele vitsutavad mõnes piirkonnas elutsevad haned ülimürgiseid sitikaid (mille 10 mg mürki on inimesele surmav) ning läbi selle muutub ka lindude liha mürgiseks. Spur-winged goose is not your regular goose, it is a really dangerous bird (I'm not kidding). They have couple of sharp spurs on their wrists and they use these spurs to attack their fellow geese and other types of waterfowl (as they are highly territorial). These fights can have fatal consequences and the spur-wings possibly can harm a human also. But that's not all - some populations feed on a very poisonous beetle (10 mg of that poison is fatal to humans) and through that their own flesh becomes poisonous.
