Triip-safiirlind on äärmiselt territoriaalne. Oma kuni kolmehektariliselt ja kuni sajast suurest puust koosnevast "koduõuest" ei aja ta ära ainult oma liigikaaslasi vaid ka kõik tuvid, õgijad ja siniraagid. Striped Kingfisher is a highly territorial bird. From its territory, that may be up to three hectares in size and can hold 100 large trees, this kingfisher will chase off not only others of the same species, but also shrikes, doves and rollers.
