Troopilises Ameerikas elutsev röövlind ei ole ei eriti väle ega ka osav lendur, mistõttu on ta toidulaua mõttes keskendunud nendele, kes on nõrgad, vigased või ise otsa saanud (või kellegi teise käe/noka/kihva läbi). Sellele viitavad ka linnu tugevad ja pikad jalad - pigem tatsab ta ringi maapinnal. Efektsed näevad nad välja sellegipoolest. Caño Negro märgala kaitseala, Costa Rica.

This bird of prey that inhabits tropical America is not a fast nor skillful flyer and therefore it is focused on the weak, wounded and carrion when it comes to food. The strong feet are also indication of that – caracara is used to walking around on the ground.
