Välja-roostepääsuke on poolenisti rändlind. Poolenisti selles mõttes, et ta pesitseb ekvaatori lähedases Aafrikas, kuid muul ajal rändab ringi koos vihmadega. Kui vihmahooaeg nihkub lõunasse, läheb sinna ka see pääsuke ning kui niiskus tuleb tagasi põhja poole, on tagasi ka tema. Kontinendi piiridest lind siiski ei lahku. Red-breasted Swallow is partially migratory bird. Partially in that sense that it follows the rains far beyond the breeding range (equatorial Africa) in the wet season. If the rains go south, rufous-chested swallow goes south, if the wetness returns to north, the swallows are also back. But the bird never leaves African continent.
